Hotel Gloriana
I’ve stayed at Hotel Gloriana in Montego Bay, Jamaica on two separate occasions, and overall I really liked it. I actually kind of miss the times I’ve had there. Below is my personal opinion of the good and bad at this hotel, you’ll notice the positives far outweigh the negatives and I would definitely recommend staying there.
POSITIVE
Location is EVERYTHING! I love the location of this place because its on the main drag in Montego Bay, right on Sunset Blvd. ...

How to send a text message to Jamaica
This will probably be one of the shortest and most direct posts I will ever make. As a moderator on a Jamaican chat forum for the last 5 years, this question is in the top 5 most asked questions on the forum.
“How do I send a text message to Jamaica?”
#1 – Send it via your cell phone the way you would to any other person you know, using 1 and the area code of 876, then the number. Like so: 1876XXXXXXX. International text messaging fees...

Fire on the Water
I would have never seen this little treasure if it hadn’t been for Daggerin Mondays in the hills of St Ann’s Bay, and the random Jamaican guy we picked up in the car, who took us there. It was after a long night of partying but was WELL worth the extra hour of sleep deprivation.
Fire Water, located in St Ann’s Bay is one of the coolest natural wonders I’ve ever seen. I read about it in a trip report of a friend of mine, so I had already seen pictures. ...

It’s Saturday, a lazy day. So lucky you, I only felt like posting pictures. I adore these sunset shots taken in December 2008. There is nothing in the world like testing the night settings on your camera and ending up with pictures like this!
Negril, Jamaica is infamous for its spectacular sunsets. Out of anywhere else on the island, this would be the place to bring your tripod and settle in at sundown.

Using Cell Phones in Jamaica
There are a few different ways to stay in touch while you vacation in Jamaica. Of course I’m referring to people who don’t stay at all-inclusive resorts and hang with the other tourists. If you want to venture out, get around and see things, having a way to stay in contact is a good idea.
The first suggestion is that you can just use your own cell phone from home. Once you arrive in Jamaica and turn on your phone, it will either pick up the Digicel network...

Karaoke in Jamaica
By far one of the most entertaining venues I’ve ever experienced in Jamaica! I’ll tell you how we ended up there and things you’ll want to know about being there.
On a Tuesday night in Ocho Rios, my friend and I wanted to find something to do. It was after 10pm and we decided to start walking down the dark, winding road from our guest house to a main street. (Not advisable alone). We know from experience that when you have nothing to do all you need is a...

How to use a Taxi in Jamaica
Ahhh I LOVE transportation in Jamaica. Once you experience it you’ll wish things were this easy back home. True story.
First of all let me just say that I’m pretty sure that you won’t be renting a car on your first trip, or your second for that matter. It took me 7 trips to consider it, but by that time I had so many friends with cars I don’t need taxi’s that much.
Taxi Rates
There are no rates. And there’s no foolproof way to learn...
