YEAH MON – Is there an App for that?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009 | Author: JC

Apparently there REALLY is an app for everything with Iphone! This is something I just noticed in Sangster airport since September because I never noticed it in April.

It’s an application for Iphone where you can see and hear Jamaican Patois and learn to speak it LOL. Hilarious! Mind you, after looking over it, it only shows basic Patois but it does have the most common phrases you might hear. I wonder if the full application gets into anything complicated?

Anyways, if you have an Iphone and are bored on your plane to Jamaica, and you feel like learning some lingo, I guess you can download this app!

I wonder if it explains what Gaza and Gully are? :D :D

1-800-CORRUPT?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009 | Author: JC

Alright this will be my shortest blog post ever! While driving on the main highway between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios we saw a pretty decent car accident. This police cruiser was at the scene and I noticed the bumper with a phone number on it: 1-800-CORRUPT. It seemed pretty funny to me considering the stereotype about Jamaican police LOL!

Does ANYONE know what this number is for? We’ve never seen it on any other police vehicles and I really should have called it before I left Jamaica, but I never did. Does anyone on the island want to volunteer and report back to let us know what this number is for?

Favorite Jamaica Questions – Part 3

Friday, May 29th, 2009 | Author: Jamaica

Okay so now I get thousands of search terms in my stats and I can no longer keep track of them LOL!  So I skimmed through the ones for May and still managed to pick out some great ones.  It amazes me what people use Google for!leontree

Q: 3 Jamaicans get into a taxi
A: LOL this sounds like a good start to one of those jokes like “2 Rabbi’s and a priest get into a boat”

Q: Do Jamaicans need donations?
A: Probably. Do Americans need donations right now?

Q: I fell in love with Jamaican.
A: Didn’t we all, hunny!

Q: What do you think of the pushy Jamaican people?
A: An odd question to ask Google. Wonder if it answered yet?

Q: Can i charge my mp3 player in Jamaica?
A: This is actually a legitimate question, I didn’t know about electrical outlets my first time either. So the answer is YES, the electrical outlets in Jamaica are the same as back home. You can bring your hair dryer and charge your MP3 player, your laptop, etc.

Q: Where to keep money when on Jamaica beach.
A: Where you can see it. Its not like there are people hiding in the bushes waiting for you to not look so they can steal your stuff. I leave it in my beach bag, on my towel in plain view while I’m in the water.

Q: Cockroach Jamaica
A: LOLOL!! There are no words to answer this. For some reason the first thing that popped into my head was a hip hop artist named Cockroach.  But in case you REALLY wanted to know….YES there are cockroaches in Jamaica.  Big ones.

Q: Jamaican serial killers.
A: I don’t even wanna know WHO or WHY they’re searching for this!!! Searching for competition maybe?
