First of all if you’ve never been to Jamaica you might not know that its as multi-cultural as they come! The minute I met this guy I knew I had a star on my hands LOL!!
I spent some time wandering around Lucea, Jamaica a couple weeks ago. Its a town I’ve driven through so many times but never stopped to look around. This day I decided to do just that. I wandered down towards the fishing area on the shoreline to look around. Its full of boats and little shacks where the fisherman sell their catch. Jamaican Jerk Food
Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica in which meats are dry-rubbed with a very hot spice mixture called Jamaican jerk spice. Jerk also gives Jamaicans another reason to party under the disguise of Jerk Festivals.

Jamaica’s Traditional Breakfast
Jamaica’s national dish is Ackee and Saltfish. Jamaicans say its the traditional breakfast dish but I would and do eat it anytime!
Ackee is a fruit that grows on the Ackee tree, and it actually looks like a fruit when its still on the tree.

Before ackee can be cooked it needs to be picked from the tree and taken out of its pretty red skin. What’s inside doesn’t look like a fruit nor does it look the least bit appetizing....
