Do Road!
3 Tourists, Some Jamaican Cows and a Crocodile
This was only ONE HOUR out of two weeks I spent in Jamaica….imagine what the other 335 hours are like? Watch the video, laugh at our education on “doing road” and then read the rest below.
This day we were on a motorcycle ride between Black River and Treasure Beach and decided to make a rest/beverage stop in Hilltop Square. There’s nothing around here except this awesome little bar and a pond across the road from it. The bar is brand new and will be called Golden Pond and it’s a perfect place to chill out in the country side. Three of the guys in the video are new friends of mine that I met a few days earlier. They have motorbikes and gave us the most awesome coastline tour of Jamaica’s south coast – that blog post will come at a later date. It was amazing! And yes, the one in the white shirt really IS that tall! 6’10″ I believe?
The owner of the bar told me there’s a single crocodile in the pond across the road – I didn’t believe him so he threw some pieces of raw chicken in the water to prove it to me. And what do you know! The crocodile surfaced and put on a perfect show! The cows are all over the place in St Elizabeth so seeing them was just a normal part of every day life in these parts.
I really can’t comment much more on the hilarity of the moments I spend in Jamaica and the fabulous people I meet. These are the reasons I will NEVER stay in a resort! There are no cows and crocodiles in resorts!
